IOSH Managing Safely Approval for MacNeillie Staff

A number of MacNeillie managers and supervisors have successfully completed the flagship IOSH Managing Safely course, gaining a greater understanding of their responsibilities when it comes to health and safety.

Ferit Bolukbasi, Scott Eveson, Mark Hodgkins, Bryan Humphries, Steve Mason, Jim Pedley, Michael Plimmer, Shawn Preston and John Smith each completed the 4 day long course, which took place between September and December 2015, achieving the IOSH Managing Safely qualification. The course comprises of assessing and covering risks, understanding responsibilities, identifying hazards, investigating accidents and incidents, measuring performance and protecting the environment.

IOSH Managing Safely delivers knowledge and tools to tackle the health and safety issues they’re responsible for. Importantly, it brings home just why health and safety is such an essential part of their job.

Jim Pedley found the course very interesting and informative, adding: “It has made me more focused to what we need to remove or improve on. This is the start of a long journey, but one that will be beneficial for everyone in the workplace.”
